World’s tallest sandcastle assembled in Denmark

A group of artists came together in Denmark to build what is believed to be the world’s tallest sandcastle, standing 69.4 feet high.

The team of 30 sculptors, led by Netherlands artist Wilfred Stijger, used more than 5,000 tons of sand to construct the sandcastle in the city of Brokhus.

The sand mixture contained 10% clay to get a stronger hold, and the artists said the final product was coated in glue to help it hold its shape through the winter.

The current Guinness World Record holder, which stood at 57.9 feet tall, was built in Germany in 2019.
